Tax Training Roadmap
Tax Academy offers a structured Tax Training Roadmap for tax professionals to attain a high level of competency in local and international tax. We collaborate with leaders in the industry, academia and the government to develop and deliver structured tax training programmes that effectively raise the professional competency, knowledge and capabilities of the tax community.
Expected outcomes after completing the programmes:
Level 1
Students will achieve a good appreciation of basic tax principles and tax laws, and be able to apply these principles in daily tax work.
Level 2
Students will achieve in-depth appreciation of tax principles and tax laws, and be able to apply these knowledge in tax/advisory work.
Level 3
Students will achieve a high level of understanding in tax and be able to work independently on tax planning and tax advisory matters through informed application of tax laws and regulations.
Income Tax
Programme Overview | • Provide a firm foundation in income tax principles, Singapore Income Tax Act and case laws • Provide a basic knowledge of tax law application and practice |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants with little or no knowledge in income tax |
Accreditation by the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals | NIL |
Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) | • This course is suitable for candidates who wish to take Paper 2 of the ADIT exam |
Programme Overview | • Provide in-depth treatment of concepts on taxability, deductibility and capital allowances relating to sole-proprietorships, partnerships and companies • Provide in-depth knowledge of Singapore Income Tax Act and case laws • Provide an introduction to the Goods and Services Tax and tax treaties |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants have completed Tax Academy’s Income Tax Programme Level 1 and have 1-2 years of relevant working experience in taxation Participants with more than 5 years of relevant working experience in taxation may be considered on a case-by-case basis for direct admission into the Income Tax Programme Level 2 |

Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) | • This course is suitable for candidates who wish to take Paper 2 of the ADIT exam |
Programme Overview | • Provide rigorous training on wide range of core subjects covering Tax Policy, Legal Framework, Singapore Individual and Corporate Income Tax, Tax Treaties, Transfer Pricing and Goods and Services Tax • Broaden knowledge through elective modules in Regional Tax, Tax Incentives, Tax Fraud and Investigation, Stamp Duty • Suited for candidates seeking a specialist career in income tax |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants have passed Tax Academy’s Income Tax Programme Level 2, have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in taxation, as well as a Bachelor's degree or professional certification (ACCA, CPA) • Admission will be subject to approval by the Academy on a case-by-case basis. Participants with more than 8 years of relevant working experience in taxation may be considered on a case-by-case basis for direct admission into the Advanced Tax Programme |

Goods & Services Tax
Programme Overview | • Provide a firm foundation in GST concepts, and Singapore Goods and Services Act and case laws • Provide treatment of practical case studies and analysis of GST obligations |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants with little or no knowledge in GST |
Accreditation by the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals | NIL |
Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) | • This course is suitable for candidates who wish to take Paper 2 of the ADIT exam |
Programme Overview | • Provide in-depth treatment of the general GST rules and application • Provide study of GST rules for five industry-specific modules of Finance, Real Estate and Construction, Manufacturing, Imports and Exports, Logistics and Various Service Sectors |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants have completed Tax Academy’s GST Programme Level 1 and have 1-2 years of relevant working experience in taxation Participants with more than 5 years of relevant working experience in GST may be considered on a case-by-case for direct admission into the GST Programme Level 2 |

Programme Overview | • Provide rigorous training in GST advanced concepts and case laws • Consist of two components - the coursework and the research paper • Suited for candidates seeking a specialist career in GST |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants have passed Tax Academy’s GST Programme Level 2 and have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in GST • Admission will be subject to approval by the Academy on a case-by-case basis. • The coursework modules may also be taken individually. Applications will be considered by the Academy on a case-by-case basis. |

International Tax
Programme Overview | • Provide foundation on general concepts of tax treaty and introduction to the OECD and Singapore treaty models • Provide basic understanding of transfer pricing and the Singapore transfer pricing guidelines |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants with little or no knowledge in international tax |
Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) | • This course is suitable for candidates who wish to take Paper 1 & 3 of the ADIT exam |
Programme Overview | • Provide in-depth treatment of the key treaty Articles, application of the Articles to case studies and specific current issues • Learn the conduct and practice of transfer pricing study for selected business models and arrangements and the defence of transfer price |
Programme Admission Requirements | • Participants have completed Tax Academy’s International Tax Programme Level 1 and have 1-2 years of relevant working experience in taxation |
Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) | • This course is suitable for candidates who wish to take Paper 1 & 3 of the ADIT exam |
Programme Overview | • Provide advanced treatment of tax treaties concepts and rules • In-depth examination of the rules and structure of the OECD Model Tax Convention |
